At Signature Bank we are doing everything we can to prevent identity theft and protect your privacy. However, to battle identity theft it will take us working together to help prevent this fastest growing white collar crime.

Ways to help prevent identity theft:

  • Protect your social security number and credit card numbers – only carry the cards with you that you need. Do not carry your social security card with you daily, only when needed;
  • Shred any unnecessary documents, i.e. bank statements, invoices, pre-approved credit offers, charge receipts, checks or any other sensitive information;
  • Do not give out personal data over the phone unless you originated the call and have confirmed who you are speaking with;
  • Monitor your bank and credit card statements and report any unusual transactions;
  • If you do not receive a bank or credit card statement timely, report it missing immediately;
  • Do not print any personal information on checks, name only or name and address;
  • At a minimum annually request a free copy of your credit report;
  • Avoid using passwords that are easy to detect, change passwords frequently, at a minimum every 60 days;
  • Keep current with the latest firewall and anti virus software to protect your home or office computer;
  • When using online banking make sure that the browser address reads; http://www.signaturebankga.com/ before you begin the log on process;
  • Never use public computers located in libraries or internet cafes to view your bank or credit card accounts, or conduct financial transactions;
  • Report any unusual activity to us or your credit card issuer;
