Freddie Deutsch has served as Signature Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer since its inception in 2005 and is responsible for the company’s leadership, growth, profitability, and management. Freddie, who also serves on our board of directors, acquired his BBA in Marketing from Mercer University in 1987 and his MBA from Brenau University in 1994. He has Professional Licensing in Series 7 and 66 as well as Life and Health Insurance. Beginning his career with Wachovia Bank, N.A. in Atlanta in 1987, Freddie served in several leadership positions with Wachovia until 2001, when he accepted the position of Senior Vice President/Atlanta Retail Executive for SouthTrust Bank. He left SouthTrust Bank to form Signature Bank, where today he brings over 28 years of banking experience to the table. In the community, Freddie has served as Treasurer for Leadership Sandy Springs. He also graduated from Leadership Sandy Springs in 2006.
Stephanie “Stevie” Vickers
Executive President Chief Financial Officer
A Certified Public Accountant, Stevie Vickers has served as Signature Bank’s Chief Financial Officer since we began in 2005. Stevie’s additional oversight responsibilities include Information Systems, and Loan Operations. Prior to joining Signature Bank, she served as Divisional Controller with UPS Capital, Atlanta, Georgia, from December 2001 through September 2005. Prior to that, Stevie was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Beach First National Bank, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Vice President for Product Development of Coastal Federal Savings Bank, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Stevie’s extensive banking experience includes operations, audits, finance, accounting, and spans over 28 years. She is an avid volunteer for various animal welfare organizations.
Charles P. Hoag
Executive Vice President Chief Administrative Officer
Charles Hoag leads the bank’s portfolio management team and manages our Special Assets portfolio, along with various administrative duties. He has 23 years of banking experience, having started his career with First Atlanta/Wachovia in 1988 soon after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Wyoming. At Wachovia, Charles held a variety of positions in Operations, Trust, Retail, and Corporate Banking. In 2002, he joined SouthTrust Bank in Atlanta, where he was a Regional Manager, responsible for a cluster of financial centers and over 100 employees. Charles joined Signature Bank in 2005.
Senior Vice President Managing Director of SBA Lending
Melanie S. Brown services as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Small Business Administration (SBA) Lending efforts. Melanie has underwritten and closed SBA loans for a wide-range of businesses since the early 1990’s. She is a graduate of UGA with a BBA in Marketing. Melanie also a graduate of the Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 1991 and holds memberships with the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, NAGGL and the Georgia Lenders Quality Circle. She has served as a Loan Committee member for Capital Partners Certified Development Corporation (a non-profit company founded in 1984 to originate and service loans for the SBA 504 loan program). Melanie joined the bank in 2013.
Augustus C. Brown
Market President/SVP Managing Director of SBA Lending
Augustus Brown serves as Market President and Managing Director of Commercial Banking. He has over 12 years of experience in all areas of Commercial Banking. As Market President, Augustus will be the day-to-day face of Signature Bank, enhancing the overall customer experience in the Sandy Springs community and beyond. He earned a BBA in Marketing from North Georgia College and State University. Augustus joined the bank in 2014.
