The Personal Banker is responsible for performing intermediate duties and support related to financial center operational activities and financial services; processes all new account transactions; assisting clients in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross-selling the Bank’s products and services; opening, maintaining and closing of all account types; performing financial center clerical duties; promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good client relations and referring clients to appropriate staff for new services. The position of Personal Banker also is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of teller, vault, safe deposit and discussing and accepting credit applications, and is required to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced financial center staff members.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Presents and explains Company services and products to clients and assists in meeting their financial needs. May included opening and closing accounts, assisting with safety deposit boxes, perform file maintenance and account changes as needed.

• Resolves clients account problems, answers questions, collects data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party.

• Ensures all Teller functions are correctly performed and are in accordance with established policies and standards. Ensures all security procedures are followed.

• Receives and processes client financial transactions, which may include deposits, loan payments, cash advances, travelers’ checks, cashiers’ checks, money orders, TT&L payments, processes transfers and similar transactions in person, by telephone, or by mail. Verifies transactions, monitors deposit amounts, and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly

• May have responsibilities for dual control for Teller functions such as vault and/or cash shipments.

• Maintains Teller balancing performance in accordance with bank standards and guidelines.

• Completes all required reports and ensures reports are filed in a timely manner.

• Consistently maintains up-to-date knowledge of products/services and regulations. Completes all position related and compliance related training as directed by management.

• Resolves cclient requests and questions promptly, courteously, and professionally.

• Keeps cclients informed of Company services and policies. Maintains privacy of client account information.

• Maintains and projects the Company’s professional reputation.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Good understanding of financial services and products provided
• Understanding of banking regulations
• Two or more years of Teller experience
• Two or more years of New Account or Personal Banker experience
• Excellent communication and public relation skills
• Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Experience with FISERV (ITI) Banking platform a plus
